Now don't go thinking that I am some kind of expert here. I am about as amateur as it gets. If my musical accomplishments were gravy, there wouldn't be enough to soak a soft biscuit.

Anyone ever use the Edirol MA-15D monitors? I like the idea of connecting them to my keyboard and my PC at the same time.

Just curious why you want them connected to your keyboard (I'm assuming a musical/MIDI instrument?

I would be skeptical about two different output sources to the same monitors without using a monitor switcher (not to mention the engineering "listening issues" when you're recording or mixing projects).

So here's the latest:

They're connected to my PC and my Sonar stuff has never sonded this good. I hear what I could never hear before (remember, this compared to PC speakers). I'll probably have to re-mix some of my projects but it's good to know what they really sound like.

Papa, you're right - I decided I'm going to leave my KB connected to my current monitors which do a good enough job.

Overall, crazy about the sound for their size & price.

Another one here Ric

I have these hooked up exactly like that. They are very good for their price range. I am extremely happy with these. But if you had the money you would obviously go for something a bit bigger and pricier.

This is why I cant justify other better monitors at the moment
I have my 1212m spidif optical hooked up to the monitors-for normal stuff
I have my mpc( a keyboard would work if it wasnt just a controller)hooked up rca
I think its great-2 reasons
1- dont have to power up pc to work on my mpc
2-I have my mpc ALSO routed to my fa-66(2nd interface)and can only get sound from it if I "push the input monitor switch in sonar" had I not connected to the monitors
this gives me 0 latency recording into sonar if I leave input monitoring off
and listen with both inputs on the monitors
(can adj volumes independently as well)

guys  im really struggling, im just a hoome hobby kinda guy,  although im good with my daw im lacking in technical kknowhow in the other areas,,, i can only seem to get a mono sound sound in my set up,,,, when i connect the  speaker with the built in amp to my laptop via a  phono to mini jack it only comes ut of that speaker, now i have then  run the same set up through my tele and same scenario. i was just wondering if there was something i was missing or if someone could provide me with an isolation test to rule various situations out, i bought new mini jack to mini jck leads to connect the to speakers but again that wasnt  the solution

A phono plug is a mono connection.
