I used to be able to solve the cube. Back in 1983 or so, age 10, I had a book called "You Can Do The Cube" which outlined a series of moves to memorize which got any square to any position without upsetting the rest. Simple matter of becoming familiar with them, easy to remember for a kid. So I was never impressed by the actual doing of the cube per se. It was always the little "extras" which impressed me. Solving it with your eyes closed. Solving it in seconds with one hand etc. Then there's this guy:

This is one of those feats which quite honestly makes me feel like a poor excuse for a human being. I mean, what?

Oh my... I did my best to spot signs of video manipulation but didn't see any.
Unbelievable. And not only did he do it, he was talking to friends as if it didn't require any special effort.

I would have more impressed if he made equal progress on all three rather than essentially finishing one at at time.

Wow, impressive indeed.
Not everyone is gifted with a mind/talent like that, but I've read somewhere that (generally) people barely use around 20% of what they're truly capable of.....(some are in the negative percentages as well).

Skills of this nature make me suspect something of an autistic savant nature to them. I'd like to know how he fares in other areas of life - savants usually have skills that are very deep but extremely narrow. Like the ability to look at a large pile of matches and instantly know how many are there. Or being able to look at a complicated railway timetable and memorize it in less than a second. For all we know, the kid might not even know how to sidechain a kick drum

Yeah, I wonder just how much this skill gets him ... er ... a satisfying social life (say, compared to playing the electric guitar).
