I originally moved this from the Sonar forums (as it wasn't really a Sonar discussion) into computer forums. The reason why it ended up in that forum was for this reason... As the discussion seems to be moving more towards a monitor discussion perhaps, and it was raised as an issue I've now moved this to hardware (from computer forums).

I just switched from Mackie HR824s to Equator D5s. The D5 can be ordered in single speakers as well as pairs.
 
As much as I liked and was familiar with the Mackies (about 14 years), they were really too big for the room. The Equators are incredible in the midrange and are translating very well so far. I will be ordering 3 more in a month to set up 5.1.

As far as I can tell, we still have no idea about the OP's room size or budget.
 
Until we do, all recommendations are futile.
