A few weeks ago I posted a track on this forum. Some of the responses suggested that the music I was making would benefit from the addition of guitars. It is at this point where Mesh contacted me and suggested we collaborate and see where it led. Well ladies and gentlemen we are pleased to provide you with Desert Duster for your listening pleasure.

Very nice.

Although not a crit, just a personal taste thing, I would have prefered a brighter tone on the excellently performed guitar.

Kudos to the both of you.

Nice stuff Adrian and Mesh, perhaps a slightly wider mix to open the centre up a bit and I have to agree with Ed, the guitar could do with being a little more present.

Just a little note on the side the guy User 501684156 who has posted on your Soundcloud page I would avoid it whatever it is.

That's really bad when Wookiee says to avoid someone.

Thank you both for listening and the feedback. It is amazing how collaboration pushes you into making something you would never have otherwise been able to come up with.

There seems to be some really random soundcloud accounts popping up recently. I am naturally suspicious of ones that offer you something but cannot be bothered to have a proper username.

agree with what everyone has said. love the clean guitar and synth bits. when the lead comes in you need to automate some paning/eq so that the middle opens up, and then the guitar tone needs some work, maybe a nice EQ with a subtle chorus to add some body

Hi. Cool song.
Agree with the others regarding minor tweaks.
All the best.

Hi Adrian,

I listened to this a couple of hours after you posted it yesterday and left a comment on your SoundCloud page. I really enjoyed it . Listening again now...

What I was not aware of was that it was our very own Mesh that had provided the guitar. I would suggest that you credit Mesh in your song description, just as a matter of courtesy. Perhaps even provide a link to his SoundCloud page (ask him first about that of course).

Indeed... A lot of us here produce music on our own and sometimes hit a bit of a wall every now and then. I've done six collaborations in the last couple of months. It works wonders with the old creative juices...

Oh, by the way, I reported those suspicious looking people leaving comments and likes on your song page. It is something I do as a matter of course now and eventually SoundCloud should remove them.

cheers

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I really enjoyed working on this project as it's something I've never done before and Adrian left it wide open for me to pluck some notes on it.....thanks mate!!. Collaborations are a fantastic thing.......it helps us all 'get out of the box' so to speak.

Very cool tune. +1 to the comments regarding the lead guitar EQ. It sounds like there are some guitar bits EQ'd one way, and others another. One suggestion, after the guitar solo at 1:50(ish), I'd go bigger rather than head towards the exit.

Regards,
Dan
