Hi guys,
Here is my latest recording effort..."Metropolitan Dreams".  It's a Chill tune I guess.  It uses some loops, and live playing.  I was experimenting with Native Instruments Reaktor's "Newschool" and EZDrummer 2's latest EZX "Dream Pop" (which is excellent by the way!!)
Hope you like it.  Let me know what you think.

Nice open...nice sax touches...and pretty good groove going on there. The guitars are well done, as is usual with your stuff. There is a part where you have a really nice arpeggiated guitar where I wanted something more to happen and the arp to continue, maybe up a step, but it didn't happen.

Regards,
Dan

Thanks Dan.  Yeah... A little shorter than some of my previous work.  Trying to keep it under 4:30.  This was an experiment with a few sounds I never use as much as anything.  LOL  And just practicing my mix/master skills a little bit.

This is the 1st tune I have ever used the Normalize function on believe it or not.

That was pretty cool...   nice smooth urban groove happening, and the sax and guitar lines over the top are very nice.    Good stuff.

The sax work is super cool!  Is that a real horn or a virtual?  If its the latter, you really have a mastery of how to play it on a keyboard.  It's not easy to make a realistic sax sound using a virtual instrument.  The rest of the tune also shines.  Very nice.

Nice Tony - mix sounds great and the guitar (and guitarist) is the star

SteveC-  Thanks Steve.  Just fun with some loops, a few plugins, a guitar, and lots of reverb!  LOL  Newschool is interesting, and the new EZDrummer EZX Dream Pop is fantastic!

Johnbee58-  Actually, those are just some sax loops that I used the ProChannel F/X on quite heavily.  My Motif does a pretty good sax in a pinch.  Thanks.

Hey daryl, thanks man.  Just a few sparse guitar licks this time.  Nuthin fancy.  lol  The Line6 does get some pretty decent tones though with a little tweaking.

Really like the vibe with this.
Mix sounds good to me.. Love the sax, keys synths, heck!  Love it all!  LOL
Nice change around the 3 min mark - different.

Arlen-  LOL..Yep, different.  I don't seem to compose songs that fit a genre, and I always try to throw something out of left field in towards the end of my songs.  Sort of a signature at this point in my life.  LOL

Thanks for the listen!

Hi Tony,

Cool video that. I liked how you kept the listener informed on your creative process.

Nice laid back tune... I enjoyed listening. I envy your smooth guitar playing skills, for sure haha! Composition is pretty good and keeps me hooked to the end. Overall, a great job

Do you record your guitar "wet"? And if so, do you still send a clean signal through too, just in case you don't like the wet signal? Just wondering... I have an old Boss GT5 pedal but I never use it nowadays because I prefer to record a totally dry signal into Sonar and then use various effects "in the box" instead. Kind of essential for me, I guess, because I rarely nail a passage in one take...

cheers
