Good piece Andy, albeit a bit long I thought, but I guess that was your intention to sustain the mood of the ambient spectrum. I too am not much of an Absynth user but this track urges me to check out some more ambient patches.
Thanks for sharing.

Fifteen minutes, Andy?  You're really pushing the attention span envelope here .  Quite the piece really, I'm in awe of what you've done here.  This has inspired me to make greater use of Absynth.

Trippy.  A 5.1 mix would be interesting, but i do believe I have said that before about your stuff Andy.

What else to say about this......  (Yes all 15 minuets.)

I think Daryl nailed my initial impression - "the way it seamlessly moves through sound textures".   Very nice.  And all Absyth, all the time, huh?    Well, even better...   I've always liked Absynth but for whatever reason I rarely use it.    This makes me want to go explorer...

Hiya Steve

First of all, thanks for dragging this post back to the top again

Yeah, all Absynth, although I need to highlight that most of the Absynth sounds are heavily processed by Adaptiverb, which can make a bit difference. But, yeah... It's been fun digging through some of the more obscure soundscape and sound effect presets in Absynth

Thanks for listening Steve and taking the time to comment here... Much appreciated

cheers

Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for checking this out.

If I was honest with myself, I would admit that this could have been quite a bit shorter. I normally let a piece develop a little before deciding on a length but in the case of "MSV Not Invented Here" I had already decided on the length and I then dragged the project out to suit.

Thanks for listening

cheers

Haha! Yeah... I know, and you deserve another medal for sticking with it Phil

I think I've said before that, when I listen to what you are producing I never consider that you would even bother to try and listen to this stuff. I forget that just because we produce one particular style of music that we cannot enjoy other types of music and art .

Thanks so much for listen Phil, I really appreciate the considerable time you have put into listening to my creations

Hiya Wookiee

Yeah... 5.1 is a direction I really need to look into. I'm guessing I would need an appropriate sound card for starters? It always scares me to be honest. Perhaps I should pose the question in the Techniques forum here...

Thanks for listening to all fifteen minutes my friend... Not easy...

By the time I have finished something as long as this, and as complicated (automations abound), I must have listened to it for many hours haha!

I listened for a couple of minutes but it was bothering my dog so I had to stop it. I'll try again when he's not in the house.

Hey andy!  A Ghostship ride, for sure!  lol.  I love Absynth too, and it's great for these ambient pieces.  But I hafta tell ya, 15 minutes of it on an album probably doesn't work for me.  I need for it to develop more...melodically a bit maybe.  However, the EQ and balance seemed about perfect to my ears on my new monitors.  Love the imagination it must have taken to compose this!
