I love this. Confirms my decision to follow you! I was reminded of "Here Comes the Sun" until the instrumental built up and blew those pesky Beatles out of the water.

Like I said in the Comments section, I love the sound and the vocal. The instrumental is the icing on the cake. Excellent!

I'll be listening to this again. Thanks for the present!

Nice tune.  Loved the instrumental breaks... great playing, Scotty.

Nice mix, with a lot of instruments playing around the melody without taking over. Great fiddle solo, really nice with the progress to fiddle/guitar duel.
Send compliments to the composer as well, good song and performance.

Very cool song and vibe. The production I think is very thoughtful and the vocal is a definite stand-out. Vocally like the Samples, a favorite of mine, or even the EAGLES! with a violin, and a really cool fiddle part it is.

I also would call out the bass, not for being in tune (those low instruments are harder to tell  about tuning but it sounds pretty ok to me tuning wise) but for the processing of it - I hear more "bass processing" than the actual bass. So it sounds super thick down there maybe? How did you process the bass?  I can't hear any string sounds . . . it's like you have boosted a narrow band of it. Or maybe it's because the entire song is 90% just one particular bass note? If you are ok with the processing I'd take it down in the mix a little. But I'd be tempted to roll the processing back and add back in some selective mids back to that bass, just to hear it more organically which might suit the rest of your piece.

At 2:48 you are penalized 15 yards for gratuitous yet awesome guitar solo work. I spilled my beer.  :)

cheers, cool tune!

Thanks Tom.
I had the bass squashed with compression with a low attack, with a slight EQ boost at 47Hz. I can fix it when we finish the song and I final- mix it. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Very cool song and production Scotty - something about his voice (not the song style obviously) reminds me of Bono (U2) - I really like it

Thanks, Daryl! Funny you saying that about Bono. Roy actually WAS Bono in his U-2 tribute band, called V-2.

Ha - no way. Wow. He has a great voice and I'm sure he's not as righteous as Bono is.....:)
