'tis that time of the year when the apples are growing on the tree outside the studio. I am sitting here with the door open and ere and anon there is a thunk as one falls to make space for its neighbours.

The poor apple tree seemed beset by woolly aphids this year and some blight has caused some leaves to go brown but there is a nice crop developing.

Apple tree, we bless your crown
Yield much fruit or fell ye down
Raise your roots
Hear me, tree!
Bough and leaf bear fruit aplenty

I am sure their mothers love them and they have a place in the world, but I would not be sorry if that were the case.

When I saw "Thunk, thunk" I thought I was being pointed somewhere.
