So,i took delivery of my new Helix Rack this morning and love it  but have a few questions.

Recording, should i be recording the guitar signal in stereo or just stick to mono  ? which i think will give me more options later .
Also how do i enable the recording of the mic, i have an XLR condenser mic plugged into the back,i know the Helix provides phantom power for it but i don't know how to enable this.
I tried asking on the actual Line6 forums but got not a single reply, hoping the good people on Sonar forums can be more helpful as i have experienced in the past

Thanks

Dan

I used to do a lot of stereo guitar recording (with an old POD Pro), but now do mono and process to stereo later in SONAR if I need to.

Hi Dan,

I've had a Helix Floor for a good while.
There's no absolute right/wrong when recording the output of Helix.
If you want to record a Helix signal chain that includes stereo ambience (delay/reverb/modulation), you'll want to record in stereo.
If you're going to do all that type of processing post recording, I'd recommend recording mono.

The switch to turn 48v Fantom-Power on/off is in the Global Settings.
Press the Menu button... and press down on the 6th knob to select Global Settings.
Now... you can use the 2nd knob to turn Fantom-Power on/off.

Helix is a very capable guitar processor.
The more familiar you become with the details, the better results you'll achieve.
If you haven't already, grab the latest firmware update.
