This looks like it's going to be pretty cool. If it's inexpensive or has a low introductory price, I'll likely buy it when it's released.

This product has been released. Sadly, the introductory price is a hundred bucks. Sorry, but I have enough Taiko samples already, even if they're not this versatile.

At least it runs in the Player Dave!  I think the cost is higher when these third party plugins are player compatible as they have to pay Native for the privilege.  But I do agree it is a rather nice plugin though.  You really need to making the sort of music that needs these sounds though. Unless you are it is not necessarily an immediate purchase.

I am keen to get Kontakt full version too but the cost is enormous.  Like $600 AU for the price of admission.  There is no cheap way from what I can see either.  I have got a few really amazing hardware samplers with huge libraries too so the need is not so strong for me.  But I do like many of the other third party plugins that do run inside Kontakt full.  And they are often much cheaper than player compatible versions as well.

Yup, Native Instruments is going to get their cut one way or another. You can pay them up front with your purchase of Kontakt, or you can pay them over time as you buy subsequent libraries. Either way, you're gonna pay.

I think owning full Kontakt is worthwhile despite the price tag. If you use a lot of sample libraries, it will save you money in the long run. Not to mention opening up many new options - I'd guess that only about 5% of the Kontakt libraries in the world are compatible with the player. That means there's a whole lot of cool (and far cheaper) stuff out there waiting to be discovered.

Once upon a time, some developers would offer two versions, one for the player and one for full Kontakt. The former would always be more expensive than the latter. Sadly, NI put the kibosh on that practice, so now all libraries are one or the other.

I picked this up this weekend from Time&Space, since I had loyalty points there and it brought the price down.  Sadly they didn't send the Connect download code, only the NI serial number.  They aren't open/don't respond to email over weekends at all anymore, so they didn't fix it until this morning, when I had almost no time to look at it.

First glance though, it looks pretty good.  Sounds great.  Good MIDI files.  Video manual is very good too.

Slightly over priced like pretty much every Kontakt library these days though, but that just seems to be how it is going to be.  Try hard to never pay full price, wait for a sale and work the discount game.
