Hi guys, been a while because work and family life have had to take a front seat to forum participation, but I'm back on track with a new tune (and I'm looking forward to hearing other's tunes, my favorite part of this!)

Anyway, your suggestions on the mix would be wonderful to hear:

Edit: updated to tame cymbals, flange the crap out of background vocals, boost drums and tame peaks on lead vocals

This is great .  the song is like a AAA early Steve miller song.  Bluesy, before he went mainstream.  Only nit is occasional timing issues, but the production is creative esp viz the treatment of your vocals.

Thanks for the listen, eph! How's the mix sound, balance-wise? Drums vs bass, etc?

What a great, fun track, and really original! I wanted to hear more drums, especially kick, but I was listening on headphones, so take that with a grain of salt. The performance is full of life, and if the mix was terrible (it isn't!) I'd still love it.

PS: I'm sending you a PM on another subject.

Hey Kevin,

Really cool song, with a real Tom Petty meets Steve Miller (Eph mentions). Mix is really good, there are a couple of spots where a BGV is louder than everything else (on the right), and the kick could stand more beef, but other than that it is a very good mix. Everything is wide and open.

Dan

This tune was instantly likable for me.  Kind of had a live feeling to it.  Mix-wise I'd suggest bringing the lead vocal up.

I agree with the others GREAT!
But I hear some late 60s as well... :)
Vocals seemed to be down in the mix in the beginning but came up later.
I think the backing vocals need to be laid back in the mix more.
COOL!

Peace to all…
Dave

Thanks, Larry. I've updated the mix, let me know if that's helped any. And yeah, I dig what you guys did with the photo!

Hey, Dan, thanks for chiming in! I've touched up the bgv and added some meat to the kick, now I'm worried that it's, well, too much. Heh.

Thanks, philz, I appreciate your ears. I've pushed up the lead vocals a bit but my voice always makes me cringe so your feedback is most welcome.
