Hesitated to listen as this song is one I have never liked:)    That said, I like your version quite a bit.  The performance and mix are really good.   Really like the minimalist arrangement and acoustic feel.   Something about the French accent really makes this pop as well.   Great post.

If Johnny Cash was Jacques Cash and for some reason covered '80's hits. Awesome!

I have a special relation with this song,though I could not say why, maybe it is because I know Miles Davis played it or maybe because as a french man the way I get the words is talking to me..
Anyway ,thank you for listening and mentionning my french accent which helps me to admit that sometime our weakness can be an advantage.

The ending is quite often used here with minor VI then the fifth wich comes back to the fundamental.

Very nice arrangement.  I like covers that do their own thing rather than just copying the original and this certainly fits the bill.  I really like the guitar sound - how did you blend it? Is it mostly from the mic?  It certainly doesn't have the harshness you usually hear with a piezzo.
