Interesting read.  But I'm sure this will be as worrisome as "the death of rock n roll' that seems to come up every decade or so.
The big surprise for me was how adamant Gibson appears to be, in forcing new technology on guitarists (who are notoriously conservative when it comes to their instruments).

Even if the younger (millennials) generation don't "dig" the classic guitarists and guitars in general, the dubsteppers/EDM'ers will eventually saturate within their limits and will start looking elsewhere for music. That's when playing an instrument will be the new 'in thing'. History will repeat itself.......if it doesn't, it'll be quite sad.

Good guitarists are notoriously conservative...
Hacks like me love all the new technology !

But you're not concerned about the death of acoustic drums?

I'm more concerned about the death of acoustic drummers.

Guitars will still be around for as long as I am.

Beyond that, no I really don't care.
