This just in...A recent study has determined that the death of acoustic drummers would have almost no impact on bassists. The only perceived impact came from a bassist with a ridiculously small car who can't figure out who is going to haul his gigantic speaker cabinet. 
 
Guitarists, on the other hand, experienced a sudden inability to explain why they needed a new amp now that they no longer had to play over that drumkit. This unexpected shock was mitigated by the realization that they no longer needed to fear flying shrapnel or well aimed projectiles. 
 
Singers, as predicted, remained completely oblivious.

I too am concerned about the death of acoustic drummers.

As far as I'm concerned, there doesn't seem to be much concern about percussionists. Shirley, they have a place in all of this?

I see a lot of kids on YouTube playing electric guitars, many of them play better than I ever will. I see a lot of young bands with guitars, I see a lot of kids in the audience when I watch guitar bands.
 
I think it'll always appeal to kids as a form of self expression.
