and a couple of Arturia synths (Mini and SEM)

Your synthy break sure has some hella cool chords as it moves back to the verse. Really thoughtful choices there. Overall there are lots of cool chord changes that break the rules - love it!
 
Are the drums live or AD? They sound pretty good on my system.
 
the ending . . . I think you could maybe do something there . . . :)

The Drums are Toontrack Superior Drummer - the DW kit in Progressive Foundry.

This is pretty good John! I think the opening could have used a little more intro, but that's just me. Really like the chorus section and the drum break/synth/solo. Lots of good bits here and there. Guitar on the left might be just a tad too loud. Tom is right, these drums fit really well.

I liked it! It has a loose feel which is great because I like that human quality. The only thing I would do different is hard pan some of the instrumentation. There is a lot going on up the middle. Good job.

Thanks for listening and for the comments. I'm always a little nervous about panning anything more than 60 - 70% and some of these guitars a re a little less. I did try to give them some stereo "placement" though.
Maybe I should play around with some hard panning more often...

I have always loved your songs, especially the guitar.  I know there are lots of comments on the drums, but I think this would be great even if there were no drums at all.

I've been playing with some (virtual) analog synths recently. You can hear a little in this song, and more in the next ;-)

Good stuff John and the mix translated very nicely on headphones. I thought the bass on this is very good and worked out really well with the drums. Had a bit of funk element to it......which I like. :))
 
Adding synths does give it an added dimension......keep up the good work mate!!!
