The list was motivated by noticing that, especially after buying new glasses, I'm broke but that I have some version or other of almost everything on the list and maybe I don't need GAS so much as using what I have and actually learning how to make music and avoid runon sentences.

It's habitual for so many to avoid what is included in a DAW and assume the FX is not up to par.  That was the beauty of Reason. You couldn't go outside of the box and yet people created great stuff before REs and VST support came along.  From seeing youtube videos people who use Live and FL tend to use more of the included package.

What's needed?  To take away the excuses and not come up with anymore new ones!  Just play/sing!

I didn't see "Cowbell" on the list.

Very little needed if there is inspiration to create.

Maybe a cassette recorder or a mic thru the mini phone jack if going digital. Audacity free does it all.
Hard on passion of the young rock star can not be remotely met like guys like me. At peace with this reality since can honestly look myself in the eye.

Thousands of dollars in state of the art plugs here, but hiding creative ability behind the self deception of having to get the right sound before I can create. Faking out myself.

Glory to the kids who can rock on without the strangle of needing the latest and greatest before being able to actually deliver a cool song.
