I "imagine" they had to hit the mute button on a lot of her wailing and shrieking on the record after John promised her a part. Honestly I cannot stand this woman. I walked past her and her fawning entourage in the West Village a few years ago and she gave me such a pompous look as if to say "Yes...it is I...Yoko Ono. I dare you to say something." I actually LOL'd.

Apparently they showed a video of John saying that she deserved a cowriting credit.  If he said that, I don't think we can dispute it.
But like Sharke, I can't stand her.

My favorite Yoko story is the one from Geoff Emerick's book. He relates the story of Yoko in the studio, and he and Lennon at the console. She's in there doing her creative caterwalling and John gave Geoff a sly grin and they both lost it laughing and ended up trying to hide under the console so she would not see them. She did notice and was furious with John. I still smile thinking about it.

Best Of Yoko

Honestly, I have never been moved by Imagine, so it doesn't bother me much.  And Lennon is at the top of my list of influences.  Jealous Guy was my piano song from that album and if she had anything to do with it, it would be a little painful. Most songs on that record were far more interesting to my ear.
