Nice ... enjoyed it a lot ... kept waiting for Iris to start her drums, and the Sequencer King to get started and then ... a screaming guitar by Edgar Froese over it ... but it was really nice to listen to as it is.

Here's a blast from the past I haven't heard in decades - Ghosts by Japan. Amazing that this reached no.5 in the UK charts in 1982 - you don't hear anything this inventive or quirky in the charts these days. It's a fantastic piece of 80's synth pop, and all of those bell-like FM sounds work surprisingly well with the vocal. Nicely mixed too - the young EDM crowd could learn a lot from listening to how synths were mixed back in those days. 
 

 

Mick Karn went solo, David Sylvan put out some awesome ambient stuff and Richard Barbieri ... went to Porcupine Tree ... and his keyboard work was always really good all around.

Slyvian's 'Rain Tree Crow' project is well worth a listen. Basically Japan reunited. Also his work with Robert Fripp.

mick karn also did some interesting stuff as "dalis car" with pete murphy

Such a nice introduction with Edgar and Linda ... really lovely. I do think that their version with Hoshiko is also dynamite and really strong ... and the sequencer stuff only got better and better and more intense. The only other introduction that is excellent and fun, is the one in Lisbon, when he allows Linda to play the piano and then comes in to thrash that piano ... !!!!
 
Electric Guitar – Bernhard Beibl ... and no one here still knows what that acoustic guitar he plays is? (at about 15 or so minutes into it)
 
And this is the concert Edgar does a solo with Linda on Sax ... it is really nice, but you can almost see him pushing her some. She handles it.

I have been into the electronic/symphonic (whatever you wanna call it!) since 1972, and have over 3K CD's and 1K LP's that will never make it to CD ... with so much of this kind of music that I can not even remember some things. I was just recently playing some things like from the 70's that were all so much like yours in terms of electronics, but they are all different and very strong, and always very satisfying as yours also is.
 
The combination of electronics and a symphonic feel, is good for me, but then something different like Larry Fast, and SFF, Klaus Schulze, Eberhard Schoenner, Richard Vimal, Albert Von Deyen and so many others from Europe specially, are always a treat ... as many of these lean on the experimental side of things as an "experience", and are not defined by a song concept or idea, which is something that I really like. There is a freedom of expression that is really special.
 
The one thought I remember from your piece was that yours was a very much more modern "Oxygene", but it would bring down yours, and I did not want to do that ... it is very good and a wonderful listen, and my imagining other folks on it, is just me ... I do that with all music ... in fact about the only folks I can listen to that do not do that to my imagination are Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Vangelis  and Ryuichi Sakamoto ... and I have been with these 4 from the very beginning and start ... however, if there is one thing I do not like to do in reviews, is to COMPARE a musician's work to another ... the suggestion I made was more for fun, and just something in my imagination, not a review. But it is also a suggestion that the bottom end of it is very nice, or it would not have brought up the thoughts, and that is not to suggest that it would make it better ... I think its best as it is!

One small detail ... you are missing the SPOONS! (or forks, or other utensils!)

I am very much in the experimentation process at the moment. I haven't done anything like the one you heard for a bit though as I have gone even more into the world of soundscapes and drones.
