Here's one band that came on a Sirius XM station my roommate was listening to yesterday that I DON'T have anything from (just to prove that it DOES happen!):

Ironically, we have a few pubs here (in the Portland Oregon area) where we can hear a lot of this type of music.  I know a few people who show up with their instruments and spontaneously start playing.  Pretty cool!

Thunder..the best rock band no-one's ever heard of

I have to say I have never heard of them but you have peaked my interest.

That's pretty cool. Some of the violin sections reminded me of some of the banjo parts in this. Perhaps it is just the same inherent style or theoretical root.

No problem then.  Mine is more of a heavy tribute than an authentic cover.  We're safe

Oh cool! I'd love to hear that when you finish it. I thought about going heavy too, but for some reason, I changed my mind.

Well I finally got somebody to do some vocals and she also provided some guitar.  Remember, you asked  :)
I went hybrid

Bob, I'm looking forward to listening to this at home (blocked site at work)....which instruments did you play on it?

I played everything except drums, vocals and some of the backing acoustic guitar.  The intro/outro acoustic parts are mine.

A jazz cover of Roxy Music's "More Than This" from Charlie Hunter with Norah Jones on vocal. Absolutely beautiful and, I might add, sonically perfect.
