I liked them. Found this from last year;

Is that him out of Spandau Ballet on the other guitar?

Yes I think it is.

This much is true.

They're your favourite band they are. You love them. You love Spandau Ballet, you adore them you do.

You see a top of the pops album from the 1970's with chirpy chirpy cheep cheep on it. That's your favourite album that is. You play it every day on your dansette record player.

Huh....

You see that signed Crazy Frog Greatest Hits LP. You love that album you do. You love that album so much you sleep with it you do. You want We Are the Champions (Ding a Dang Dong) played at your funeral you love Crazy Frog so much.

Dear James and Paulo.

Stop it.

Thanks.

Sorry Steve.

Here, have this;

Got that album on cassette for Xmas, 1979

I only said 'Stop it' cause you two had pinched all the good ones

Lurve me some Skids as you know mate. Did I ever bore you with the fact that I saw them live in '78 as support act to the Stranglers

Never saw The Skids but I did see Big Country in Bristol, '83-ish. Support was The Lotus Eaters, who were sadly,  bloody awful.

Good times

:-)

James, to add - I see the Skids are touring again and plan on releasing a new album pretty soon (website).

Nice to see Richard Jobson showing the band some love again, but can it really be The Skids without Stuart Adamson?

Idea for a new thread: "Bands that aren't the same without certain member(s)" or "Bands that could never be the same if they reformed without certain member(s)"

You see Susan Boyle. That's your mum that is. You love her. She's the best looking woman in the world to you. She kisses you every night before you go to bed because you can't got to sleep until you feel her moustache brushing against your face.

Well, Big Country carried on without him, which was a travesty to me. Too distinctive a vocalist, guitarist and character to be replaced, but I suppose the other guys needed to work like anyone else.

I could never take to BC because to my ears they somehow made guitars sound Scottish. Yeah, probably just me but I couldn't ever  listen to them without hearing the faint tinge of bagpipes.

I few years back, I saw them live on tv from some festival or other and having temporarily forgotten about SA no longer being with us, my first thought was......wow, he really hasn't aged well. D'oh !
