  • What to do with my Panasonic/Ramsa WR-DA7?

Many years ago I bought a used DA7 and never used it. I am now setting up a new studio. I will be using Sonar for tracking.

I am wondering if I should try to use the DA7 in the studio? I plan to use a touchscreen for Sonar. So, I could either use the DA7 with one touchscreen, or Sonar only with one or perhaps two touchscreens.

Anyone with experience with the DA7? Thoughts?
Thanks very much.

I don't think you'll have much use for it. You should probably give it to me. :)

Interesting idea. What would you do with it?

Welp, if I remember right, lots of people raved about the quality of the converters and the onboard dynamics. I would try it out as the main interface and see if all those reviews were true. Can't remember, can you use it as a control surface?

I piddled with trying to interface it with Sonar a few years ago. I never got very far, but I don't think I worked at it long after trying the basic stuff. But if I have a touchscreen, maybe that would do as a control surface. Not sure. I got that idea from this video...

By the way, the attached is a mock up of an idea for the control room space.

We'll see. It could be a while before I can get going on the actual studio.

Well best of luck with it. I hope it turns out as cool as the picture. And remember, if you need to get rid of that DA7, I'll take it off your hands. :)
