I started writing this song over 20 years ago, and just picked it up again and finished it a few weeks back.  Add in some excellent contributions from Ed, Danny and Daryl and I think it turned out pretty good.  Give it a listen and see what you think.  It's the top song on my Soundclick page: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1050818&content=music
Also on top on my Soundcloud page: https://soundcloud.com/phil-doyle-292979186
Danny (Dannydanzi) Danzi- Lead guitar
Ed (Bapu) Kocol- Bass
Daryl (Daryl1968) Greenway- Backing vocals
Phil (Philz) Doyle- All the other stuff

Thanks for listening,

7/27- With thanks to the folks offering early comments on the tune, I've just re-mixed and replaced the audio files on both sites.  Kick and snare got a little boost each, and I believe I solved the issue that was muddling the chorus vocals.  Thanks again for your input!

Nice song, great flow and mix, nice lyrics (read them while listening to the song).
Found the vocal panning a bit odd to my ears.

BOOM! right off the bat!

I'd like to hear the vox better, they sound phasey and muddy.  I'd take that time shifted clone of the vox out of the mix.  if you want to beef them up, It would be better to record them again and add that track in but at a much lower volume - bring it down until you can't hear it then back up just a hair.

man - Danny is killin that lead - as usual - his performance is always top notch!

bapu's burning up the bass - but I'd like to hear it a little more, too, I'd bring it up in the mix some.

drums are good in the mix

piany is great - good mix level on them, great performance

nice stuff Philz!

Phil.

Cool song and performances are really very good.    I think the mix could use a bit of tweaking, the lead vocals are a bit phasey and muffled.  I would pull back that flanging/phasing effect on the lead vocals.   Would like to hear some more thump (kick and bass.)   Snare could come up a bit.    The song is really driving but the kick and bass are not represented in the mix.   Anyway, had a couple listens through and really like it.  Great song.

Regards

I thought the phazy, muddy vocals had a *live-70's -recording* feel to it.  Kind of reminded me of Neil Young.  Nice jobo.

Mix-wise, I'd vote for snare up. MAybe the kick a little, too. I thought all else including the bass was pretty much in the sweet spot.

Very cool guitar noodlin' !!!!!! that's like six exclamation points or somethin' . . .

Since I'm voting, I'd also dig a little three seconds of "ear candy" right at the beginning, because as-is the song jumps on the listener from the get-go. Pounces, really.

Could perhaps do with a splash of melodyne or a redo of your vocal moment at :016

Hey, cool driving track, you enlisted some great backing tracks here. I also didn't object to the slight panny, phasey vocal treatment, I thought it fit the song nicely. Grateful Dead-ish . . .

cheers,
-Tom
