Cool...   It's got a nice retro-ish vibe without really sounding retro.   Everything sounds good from here, and Danny did do some nice work.

I thought the phazy, muddy vocals had a *live-70's -recording* feel to it.  Kind of reminded me of Neil Young.  Nice jobo.

Thanks, David.  Sorry to disappoint, but I fixed the phazy vocals.

Mix-wise, I'd vote for snare up. MAybe the kick a little, too. I thought all else including the bass was pretty much in the sweet spot.

Very cool guitar noodlin' !!!!!! that's like six exclamation points or somethin' . . .

Since I'm voting, I'd also dig a little three seconds of "ear candy" right at the beginning, because as-is the song jumps on the listener from the get-go. Pounces, really.

Could perhaps do with a splash of melodyne or a redo of your vocal moment at :016

Hey, cool driving track, you enlisted some great backing tracks here. I also didn't object to the slight panny, phasey vocal treatment, I thought it fit the song nicely. Grateful Dead-ish . . .

cheers,

Thanks for the kind words and detailed comments, Tom.  I wound up fixing the vocals, and also took your suggestion about bringing up the kick and snare.  Thanks!

i like how the song starts....gets right to it!

the drum vibe kinda reminds me of liberty devito....

i do agree with beagle, the vocals still sounds phasey on just one side, i think it's a doubled lead vox that has been hard panned.. it's a bit distracting because the high end on the track has not been rolled off...
typically, when you multitrack lead vox, the secondary tracks should only really fill in the midrange, and not have much top on them...... then they blend in just right.

nice melodic lead lines, tasty harmonies, tasty bass lines, tho i'd like to hear a little more clarity on the bass track in the upper mids...

great song phil!

I like the piano Phil, nice playing.  Of course all the other players are accomplished, so I can only say they lived up to their reputations.

I like your vocals too. You have your very own sound and are not afraid to share it, that is a plus to me.  The lyrics ar great, a nice love story, you have given up yoursef.

I can't comment much on the mix because I am listening on my laptop.  I sort of agree with esoul about the immediate beginning of the song, but that is also a stylistic point.

It is great to hear all you fellas playing together.  You all have a nice vibe.
