I`m having problems routing outs with the Liquid Mix Control-my DAW builder is having the same problem-i need to be able to send all 16 outs to a patchbay(Samson)-thanks Beagle!) and onto various mixers for individual playback levels when recording live-have tried all presets and most possible variations-anyone?please?

sweet patchbay, eh, Tony?

what exactly are you having problems with on routing the outputs of the Liquid Mix?  (I'm assuming the liquid mix is presonus' software?)

well there is some confusion , he mentions the Saffire 56 audio interface in the title, but the liquid mix effects box in the post.
I think he may be referring to the MIX CONTROL software mixer app

the saffire has 10 analog outs 2 adats, and SPDIF

hey,i`m the first to admit i`m confused and out of my depth-but even my daw builder-who hasn`t done a focusrite setup before, agrees the mix control is ridiculously complicated.
my problem is 3 nights a week i have rehearsals and 2-3 nights a week i record.I don`t want to have to fire up the pc and focusrites for rehearsals so bought the patchbay (wondering if i should have got a multiple mic splitter instead)so i can bypass the interfaces and run straight out to the foldbacks and the drumroom mixer.
in mix control i`m using DAW Tracking and in the output control i have all outs greyed out so they should be sending individual signals to each mixer channel but they`re not.
unfortunately the DAW is on the bench at the moment qualifying the interfaces and sorting the routing so i can only muck around with the patchbay and will only be able to sort when the system is delivered and installed: http://www.aavimt.com.au/stealthx2000info_11.htm

beagle:if i`m still stuck with the routing on the patchbay can i PM you rather than waste forum time?.

musicman100:thanks for the links-there`s better on youtube especially optimizing Sonar for focusrite-noticed you didn`t address my question-are you using these interfaces or are
you annoyed by my sloppy post?
cheers

a multiple mic splitter might have been better, at least for part of your set up.

I can try to help, but I don't have the saffire at all, so I don't know anything about its specific routing other than what MM has stated above.  and I doubt he's annoyed by your post but trying to correct you that the saffire doesn't have 16 outs - he's saying the saffire only has 10 analog outs + 2 ADATs and SPDIF.  so going into the patchbay you're only going to get the 10 analog outs from the saffire, not the ADATs or SPDIF.

thanks mate:i`m annoyed that i  wasn`t more specific-i didn`t mention the 56 was linked to an Octopre mk11 via adat(even though it`s in my sig)and have more outs than i need!thanks for your help though-there is always a workaround and i will find it.
A lesson for low posters like me-be more specific !!
cheers

I am not annoyed I was trying to HELP you because you said Liquid MIX and other things in addition to your query about the Fovusrite/Roland lashup.
NO I dont use both, but you should know that even though the Saffire has ADAT I/Os that the MIX control only routes the SAFFIRES I/Os among themselvesit is a patchbay/mixer,

SO even if connect 8 mics into the roland, send them to the Focusrite via ADAT,\
these eight mic signals are routed internally in the Saffire Mix Control as 8 sources to the hardware outputs, 10 analog(two are headphone), one adat and one spdif.

Since you have a patch panel that accepts analog signals the EIGHT SAFFIRE audo outs could go to the patch bay, and in addition the eight Roland audio outs , (and you can do the same with the inputs for HI-Z stuff to your patchbay.

Since you said VARIOUS MIXERS, you might have more flexibility sending the outputs of the two hardware audio interfaces to these mixers through your patch bay and not even use the MIX CONTROL

Basically the Focusrite Mix Control is a software mixer patch bay but even though there are so many scenes and listings, there are only the fixed Input Output configurations.

exactly!  you still only have the analog outs available to connect to the patchbay since the patchbay doesn't have ADAT inputs (and it wouldn't make sense to anyway).
