If so, thoughts, opinions, rants, etc? :D

Yes, and I really like them. Sadly, thus far I've only heard them on a trade show floor, but it was enough to get my attention. Later this summer I am planning to have a little shoot out in my room between the Sceptre S8s and the Equator D8s. Yes, the former is twice the price of the later, but still within my budget for new monitors. At present, and with a cap of about $1500 I think I've narrowed it down - but I guess that could change - although I hope it doesn't<G>!

I'm looking at them and Emotiva Stealth speakers. I moved my stuff in to a new, small, room and my big speakers don't work well. I need something good for a small space :P.

I upgraded from KRK Rokit 8's to the Sceptre S6's and love them.  The sound is much more clearer and the imaging is amazing.  I'm also using IK Multimedia's ARC2 and it helps out as well.

Closest anyone I guess can come without physically hauling home speaker monitors.

50 of them.
Just go to the line on which speaker you want to listen to compared with the first track which is the source. If you want to read about how they did it, then there is their website also explaining it.
When you get to the line of the speaker you will see the little triangle to skip to that speaker to hear. Of course it may just automatically go the next speaker if you do not actually stop it.
So you can skip around to different speakers and compare it to the first track - the Source.

They do not have Equator speakers up though, lots of other different ones though.

Well supposing those sound files present a fairly accurate picture the Sceptres are nothing short of amazing. They are perceptibly different from the source track on my headphones (Denon D2000s) but only just. They sound superior to everything except for maybe the Genelec 8050s, but those are way more expensive.

I'm going to have to give these some real thought.

Sorry, I like the JBL LSR308 and think the Event Opals are the best ones, but can not begin to afford those.
??

The speakers were all recorded the same 18" from the speaker using their omni-directional microphone they used.
I would have preferred them recording the speaker from a meter away I suppose for some reason not quite clear perhaps to anyone else, but that is where usually measurements are taken from when testing a speaker as to SPL level and any of that.
(or so I have read).
