hey Freddy - I like this a lot!  very cool groove, nice tune all around!

since you don't have the original any more, maybe you should consider re-recording it?

Cool song, Freddy...   simple but effective, it really gets the point across.  And the "on King's Highway" tail end of the line is quite catchy.

Ditto the above re: delay/reverb though - if you could lower that a bit and/or filter the frequency so it's less of a "double" on both vocals and guitar I think it might help clean things up.  After all, if you're racing on King's Highway you want a clean machine.

Freddy, I used to drag race in North Carolina when I was stationed at Ft.Bragg.  It was a road just like you are talking about I was picturing some of my better races as I listened.    Fun tune.  I could go eeither way with the effects.

Hi Reece.  Thanks for your input -- I always appreciate it.  I think that I have done as much as I can with fooling around with the plug-ins and trying to correct things.  Maybe if I knew what I was doing it might help!  I think that you have a good suggestion.  I am OK with the guitars now but I do want to tame the vocals a bit more which means re-recording.  I am not sure how I am going to do it or when I'll do it.  I am working on about 3-4 more songs and I want to get most of each of them done before I forget what they are supposed to sound like.  However, I have put it on my list of things to get done.  Thanks again.

Hey Steve.  Thanks for taking the time to comment.  If you will note in my response to Reece, I think that the best thing that I can do, given my lack of knowledge and talent on the engineering side, is to re-record.  Thanks and I appreciate your suggestions.

Hi James.  Thanks for the kind input.  Back when I was living in Charlotte County there was very little to do, so the lads and I spent a lot of time in Ft. Myers.  At least Ft. Myers had a walk-in, air conditioned movie theater.  I did move back to Canada when I got married but after a couple of winters we came back to Florida and we are happy in the Tampa Bay area.  Thanks again.

Hey Warren.  Great to see you back on the forum --- you old hot rodder you!  Thanks a lot for commenting.  As you might have read above, I will be working on taking the verb down a bit -- at least the vocals.  It is just a matter of fitting it into all of the other stuff that needs doing.  Thanks again buddy.

Cool one Freddy.  This brought me back to my 409 Chev days.  Thanks for posting.

I like the idea Freddy though it still sounds a little to much reverb to me.  Will keep the furry lugs open for the remix, if you do one.

Freddy, great idea man.  I agree with most of the other comments.  I would like to hear it without any reverb at all.  I've always liked your voice and don't think that it needs much spatial adjusting.  I know you'll find the right balance.  Keep up the good work.  I always love your guitar too, nice.
