Hey Reece, really liked this. Didn't hear the other version the guys were commenting on, but this one sounds pretty good vocally. Your voice has come a long way man. Really good.
 
Mix is audible. If I had to comment on anything, the instruments seem a little too stripped out to me as far as their actual sound size. Like maybe you ripped too much low end out? Or mastered out too much low mids/mids? Everything just sounds small and bright. If one of my students gave me this, we'd call it a poppy mix and experiment with what types of low mids and mids we could add. It sounds like one of those auto-mastering presets just had its way with the song in my opinion. Most of them strip out mids/low mids, add some low end and some high end presence and they call it a day.
 
Hats a bit crispy with highs. Bass, I can feel more than hear what it's doing. Would be better with a little more identity in the bass if possible. But everything is audible which to me means "acceptable mix" in reality. Just giving you the specifics because I figured you'd want me to. But I'm really impressed with your voice....and the writing on this song is awesome. Really nice job man! I so miss hanging out on this side of the forum. Going to try and stop around more often at least to listen to guys like you and a few others. :)

Thanks for stopping in and commenting on this song.  Reece, Sean and myself have been collaborating on songs as the virtual band, Scandalous Grace.  We have had a great time with this over the last 2 years.  
 
Your comments are very helpful and we will take all of your suggestions into consideration.  

Have not listened to any of the previous mixes.  To me the vocal sounds a little to dry and the kit is a little to wide for my personal furry taste.  I was also finding trouble getting some instrument spacial definition, could just be tired furry lugs.  But generally the mix is close just a tweak or to more should nail it.  Thanks for sharing.

I'm trying to stop around here in between clients and what little down time I have, so for now I'm doing quick drive bys. Lol! Yeah, I really enjoyed it man. Sounds like you all enjoyed what you were doing. That's what it's all about. We'll done. :)

Good song, Reece.  I remember when you were taking the vocal lessons.  You have really come a long way since then.  I couldn't sing a song like this to save my life.  You have the right voice on the right song.  You probably remember that I am not the mix guy of the Pugtones so I can't offer too much there.  It sounds good, buddy!
