There is a wishy-washy mentality prevalent among a lot of "educated" middle class types in the UK - I know because I have a lot of them on my Facebook feed.

Thanks for making me laugh on at an otherwise dark time.

Maybe this is just a test by the new world order to see who's already become sheep (like Sharke's FeckBook friends) and those they still need to reign in.

Heck, gunmen shot up a hotel casino in Manila on Thursday and it barely got any news (one of my clients has staff in Manila which is how I learned about it).

I'm not sure I know what wishy washy is supposed to mean. What are you suppose to do when a terrorist kills people and dies in the process? Attack his/her country of origin, attack similar religious/ethnic groups?

It seems to me the ones talking the toughest are usually the furthest from the front lines.

i don't know about that tom- maybe they are furthest from the lines because they have placed more effective barriers against terrorism. i've had a gutsful of the week to week violence now

Trust me, most of us liberturdos are just as disgusted and want to see it stopped as much as ya'll do.

You have it entirely wrong. Furthest from the front lines? I live in work in Manhattan, which not so long ago was hit by the worst terrorist attack this country has ever seen. In 2010 I walked right past an SUV loaded with explosives on 45th Street and got to 8th Avenue in time to hear the sirens and chaos behind me and the cops closing down the block, and watched a bomb disposal robot approach the vehicle. That bomb would have killed dozens and to this day I still think about the fact that it might have gone off as I was walking past. In addition to that, I take the rush hour subway in Manhattan several times a week and am always aware of the fact that I'm standing heel to toe in a train that these scumbags are probably thinking about targeting with a suicide attack all the time.

In contrast, I have friends on Nantucket who are exactly of the "wishy washy" mentality I describe and have in the past criticized others for "being afraid" of terrorists. Yep, right there on Nantucket where there's about as much chance of a terrorist attack as there is of a volcano eruption.

Don't even pretend to be unaware of the fact that we're dealing with a widespread religious cult, worldwide, whose express goal is to establish a global caliphate. And that many people in these communities have openly said that they would refuse to report extremists with terror links to the authorities. We're not condemning a race or an ethnicity or a nationality here, it's a set of ideas which a free thinking individual has the choice to follow or not. Therefore it is 100% ripe for condemnation. And the fact that so many people refuse to condemn it just proves that these terrorists have a pretty easy going outlook in front of them. The police know who most of them are, and after every attack we hear that the culprit was "known to police." They were probably known in their communities as well. But a combination of spineless PC and warped sense of loyalties means that they are able to plan and execute their carnage without a care in the world. Damn right I'm angry.

I don't see why though Beeps, they're just expressing the same opinions as they do in real life. Most of my friends on FB are extremely vocal about political issues and every day I scroll through a mile of posts about how evil the Tories are and a wealth of other political issues. If there's a big shooting in America - post after post condemning US culture. When there's a terrorist attack in Europe - nothing. Zilch. Total blackout.

Well... people are generally vapid, self absorbed dumbasses.

FB is an excellent loudspeaker for vapid, self absorbed dumbasses (and all sorts of agitprop designed to stir said dumbasses up).

What I'm really trying to say is...

Facebook sucks.

I dunno, I guess it depends. I use it primarily to keep in contact with people back home. Then again I only have about 90 or so friends on there, I see others with 1000+ and I just think why??? You cannot possibly know or be interacting with all of those people.
