We're all angry.

I doubt even wishy washy people want terrorist attacks to happen.

Some angry people (not saying you) want to beat up the first Muslim they see. Some angry people (not saying you) want to storm Muslim neighborhoods. Some angry people (not saying you) want to prevent Muslims from traveling abroad.

I do not want to do any of the above. So, if that makes me wishy washy so be it.

I originally set mine up (when it was new) mostly for the band stuff and now it is a way to just keep in touch with some people.

But really... that's it and I rarely log in. It's simply clogged with far too much general stoopid and inanities I post just to let people know I'm still alive a couple times a year and toss a few messages back and forth between my closest friends.

The "news" and "opinions" that get posted... just mind numbing drivel not worth the pixels they absorb.

I find that, like any social media, the trick to get the most out of it is to be super fussy about what appears on your feed. So I'm careful about which pages I like, and if a page starts posting garbage then I unlike it. Same thing with friends - if they're posting endless crap which clogs up my feed then I just "unfollow" them  - no need to unfriend - so that they don't appear on it. I even did it to my own brother once when he was posting too many selfies, lol....

Well, isn't this nice that this has turned into a trivial discussion of Facebook?

But I suppose it shows how people react to such atrocities: shocked, saddened and angered, and then they get on with their lives. The alternative is to live in fear, then the terrorists have won.

Throughout my life the UK has always lived under the threat of terrorism, first with the IRA bombs (funded by Noraid dollars), now with these evil scumbags. But I don't want to be forced to carry an ID card, I don't want to see all our policemen armed and I strongly oppose the snooping powers the Government has already given itself.

I live less than quarter of a mile from this bumhole (the male): http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/reading-berkshire-news/reading-couple-found-guilty-plotting-10663540.  But his arrest and conviction have had zero negative impact on the relationships between the different faiths and races in my very multi-cultural community.

I totally agree. The most difficult thing in anti-terrorist actions is they're so darn difficult. It's like picking aside people who don't like mineral water. Anyone can fake liking mineral water.
Somehow the actions should start from the top: All the religious leaders should actively speak against such acts, and leaders, who refuse to do so, should be treated more or less as terrorists. That's nowhere in sight, though, I believe. If shias and sunnis can't stop killing each other, how could we expect them to leave other believers in peace. Also, it's such an easy way for a self destructive, disturbed person to glorify ones deeds. It's cooler to commit suicide as a "martyr" than as a nut-case.

I've got about as much chance of being directly affected by terrorism as someone living on Nantucket, but I weep at what's happening to the country I grew up in.

I don't know what the answer is, but perhaps a start would be to remove from our streets the 3000 'persons of interest' that are known to the security services, and have them prove that they are not a threat to society.

Talk of 'not letting them in' or 'sending them back to where they came from' is useless rhetoric, these are not refugees in disguise, they're not terrorists arriving from other countries, they are British citizens, born here.

If we don't do something drastic, and soon, it won't be knives or ramming into people in vehicles, it'll be automatic weapons.

On a more serious note, I do have a very useful insight as to why a few people of my skin colour do what they do.

Our parents tried to raise us to hate all the white people and be anti western.

Well mine did. Maybe they succeeded too, but Im just too lazy to bother to go around stabbing people with a knife, and thats only because Im too dumb to figure out how to make things that go kaboom.

Oh well, at least I have Call of Duty to get my fix of virtually killing everyone instead.
