Hi, I am a fan of the TV show the Game of Thrones. I particularly enjoy the genre and quality of the production. The lyrics of The Hunter are inspired by the show.  I was trying for a big guitar sound and was listening to the Black Keys a lot at the time and I recall trying to get a bit of their sound going. Not sure I achieved it but its a big guitar song all the same.

Overall, I think you came close to the sound you were aiming for. One thing this track could use is a shaker or something (metal percussion?) to keep the rhythm moving forward because the drums, while cool, leave too much space between some beats.

Also, I would vary the delay on the voice a bit, or duck it so it doesn't stomp on the lyric.

Dan

this is quite good!  that guitar is great!

I know you're going for a "sound" but you've got so much processing on the vox I can't understand what you're singing most of the time.  I'd back off at least part of the time like Dan suggests

Thanks Dan and Reece for your feedback. I am glad I got close and I agree on the vocal effect being over done.  I will head back into the mix as soon as I can to fix and add your suggestions.

MCi,

Nothing to add to the comments above.   Shaker is a great suggestion as is some random metal clanks (hammer on anvil type stuff).    Enjoyable listen overall.

I like the use of the delay on the voice, but sometimes it gets in the way of understanding what you're singing.  Otherwise, it's an enjoyable tune.

Hi, I have made some changes based on the feedback received.  I will no longer under estimate the power of a shaker, thank you Dan for that. I also added some metallic sounds as suggested.  Unfortunately I could not find the entire mix on my system (I knew my poor housekeeping would bite me on the a#@* one day) and I only have the master file now. It can only be on a drive that crashed on me earlier in the year which I am still trying to retrieve the data from.  In the hope to make the vocal more coherent on this mix I removed a stereo imagine plugin and raised the high frequencies keeping in mind not to take it too far and introduce ear fatigue. I also raised the lows a bit to counteract. I think the vocals now pop out more but there is still to much delay and reverb effect. This maybe the best I could do until I can get back my mix. Unless you guys have further suggestions.

Man, I really like this.  Your vocals and the effect work perfect for it too.  Great mood here, good playing and mixing.  If this came on the radio, I'd have to say 'hold on fellas, I got to turn this up for a minute'.

I would definitely recommend backing off on the reverb.

Gotta go against the grain here and say the vox does not need to be "up front" for this kind of piece IMO. Adds to the mystery.

+1 on the shaker and metal hits (here and there).
