Back when the first Zooms came out no one had a clue that you would be able to do the same thing with your phone for 10.00...the phone setup is better  because a Zoom can't send an audio file out wirelessly, or load it into another recording app....Who knew what an app was not long ago?

I have been toying around with both Auria ($24.99 on sale) and Cubasis for my iPad recently.  I am really intrigued by recording live using the iPad.  The software is good enough.  
So for $35, I now have Auria with the mic.  How cool is that?  
I bought a Steinberg UR-44 that syncs with my iPad and for simple voice or stereo recording I now have this really inexpensive stereo mic.  I now it will sound better than the built in mic on the iPad.  This technology is amazing. 
 

If the mikes are the same as the ones that are on my DR 40 then you got a smokin deal. I was looking at that this morning thinking for the price I would rip the iGizmo off and see if they could be wired into normal use.
I can do 4 tracks a using the onboard and then the XLR inputs. I used a pair of  good quality condensor's I borrowed, Can't remember the model but they were AKG and I think he said he paid over $300 for them. Tascams on board mikes sounded better.

Damn, I should have grabbed them...It would have been cool to have 4 matching mikes. 
Or use the iPad. I don't own one and was going to get a Windows based Tablet. But that would have been the deal breaker. I'm not totally against Apple like some around here. There all a bunch of crooks to me, so no big deal. 

I tested this stereo mic on my iPad running Cubasis and it sounds excellent!  I am very happy with this mic.  Hopefully it will go on sale for others that want iPad recording hardware.
