Nice tune, Reece, and good performances all the way around.  I'm not quite so sold on the mix though.  Drums seemed a bit loud, and the mix overall felt a bit hot (maybe too much compression or limiting?).

Have to agree with Phil the mix is coming over very hot here and I am hearing some distortion too.  Sorry Reece time push those fader down and start again.

Good song!  Just to back the prior comments, it may be a sign of aggressive compression when the wave-form drawing on SoundCloud rides a ridge the whole time.  Or maybe not -- probably best to trust your ears in any case.

I enjoy listening to your releases, nice song. Others have already said what I'm also hearing so will leave that to your ears.

Good song and performances Beags - Drums and final master are too hot to my ears

Reece, this sounds Awesome to my ears! You have an AWESOME Voice! I have heard people try and sing in that type of tone and almost all of the time they lose their timbre, but you never do. It's something only the very gifted or very talented ones can do. Excellent vocals! I really liked the song, and the music sounded great also.

BUT : I am no mix master,  but I have to disagree with the others saying it's too hot of a MIX. They are probably right and I am probably wrong. But here is why : "The lead guitar has very little tone in the mix, it's buried, you should raise the treble on the EQ on the lead guitar and bring it out first giving it more clarity and then remix.

I'm just trying to help Reece, so please don't take it any other way, you have helped me over the years many many times with so many questions I have asked and tolerated my frustration. Thank you!

But : My comment on your song and mix has nothing to do with you helping me, it's just me and my honest opinion.

Always great to hear you sing man, you are gifted!

Thank you everyone for the comments on performances, I had a lot of fun playing on this song.

I agree with you Serious Noize!, this was a great vocal performance by Reece.  I especially like when he just kind of lets loose on this song toward the end.

It's pretty good as is! I like the instruments, the arrangement, and the vocal performance.

So, here's some ideas FWIW!
the lead vocal seems pretty dry, and while it's still pretty good, I think it would shine a bit more if you either double tracked it (mixing in the double a little lower in volume, and compressed nicely to boot)  OR slap a tiny bit of chorus/microshift/reverb on it.

Speaking of slap, the drums I think are the only instrument that have that slapback reverb going on, and that makes them to my ears sound like they are in a separate space from the other performers.

I think also you have panned the guitars pretty hard R and L ? You might try them tucked in a little more.

cool tune, have fun with it!
