I use a 43" 4K with 100% (1:1) scaling.  Love it.  It's like having a 2x2 set of 1080s without gaps/frames.  Be careful how small you go.  When you start scaling you lose the benefit.

I do. Just got myself a 4K Samsung 40" TV as monitor. Still need a better GPU to run 2160p@60hz. Now I have to use 1080p for 2160p @30hz is quite a pain in butt.

I am running an Nvidia GTX-750 to an LG 49 inch TV @ 3840 x 2160.

The GTX-750 only requires 300 watts and can drive 4 monitors.

The 49" tv is overkill. I put the control bar at the bottom so it does not hurt my neck. Above the control bar is the console view, and at the top is track view. The console view can show about 25 tracks and busses. I put the inspector and browser on a second 24" monitor.

I can see a bunch of stuff at once, but I tend to use only the bottom 2/3 of the display.

Personally, I'd like even bigger and am ordering a 65in LG OLED, which is pricy but the 49in is really nice

Bob, what kind of video card are you using to drive this?

I installed a TCL 55-inch display driven by an Nvidia GTX 1070. The 80 DPI of the screen is perfect for my 42-inch (or so) viewing distance.

The bottom 1600 pixels are at a useful viewing angle, so I keep infrequently used stuff at the top. I float the console view of busses in the top 25 percent of the screen, and the bottom is the track view.

How far away do you sit from the monitor?
    Thanks!

38"+/- when sitting proper, 51"+/- slouched back.  Same distance(s) and pixel density as the two 21.5" 1920x1080 I had before.

Thanks for the reply... Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of real estate on my desk available...well, probably shouldn't be spending that dough on a monitor when I could use a better mic, interface or preamp...
