A local musician here had bought one of those machines that not only burned the CD but printed them as well. I think it held a stack of 20. He paid around $3000 for it and was the "go to" person for years. I died after 12 years of use and I think he might have broken even on the deal. He charged us $3.00 each, full colour label direct to disk.
I have an old Epson 300 that must be 10 or more years old. It is painfully slow and I have to push the tray to start it or it fails. Most of my clients walk away with a USB stick and burn the CD's at home themselves. I have see some print direct labels and some send them off to replicstion services. I'll do small batches if asked and I charge $5.00 because it's so time consuming.
Let us know if you see a profit coming from this one. I'm interested.
