Mixbus's new Tempo Mapping feature allows you to move the musical timeline to match a "live" performance's timing.  This makes it easy to edit your sessions using the Grid; or to add MIDI loops & sequences that follow the tempo map.... without requiring your band to play to the metronome.

Changes introduced in v4.0.703

New Features
  • Dedicated support for the Presonus Faderport8 control surface ( more details here )
Fixes & Improvements

  • Mac OSX specific:
    • If you were having trouble with slow-drawing plugins, this should be greatly improved.
    • If you were having crashes when showing a popup menu (such as right-clicking on the Tempo marker),  this should be fixed.
    • Occasional noises when soloing a mixbus:   this should be fixed.
    • Re-enable language translations for OS X 10.11 and 10.12
  • VST data stored in "chunks" ( usually, Virtual Instrument parameters, or reverb IR files, etc ) will now be recognized across Mac/Win/Linux. This dramatically improves VST settings save+recall when sharing sessions across platforms.
  • Provide an option for metronome: Record-only
  • Fixed support for "Momentary" pushes (middle-click push) on Mute/Solo buttons, when channels are grouped.
  • Fixed some cases where the Auditioner bus could be disconnected from the Monitor section.
  • Easier copy/pasting of the license link into License Manager dialog.
  • Improved save&recall of external control surface MIDI port connections.
  • Mini-timeline: show an arrow pointing to the "next" and "previous" markers outside of the mini-timeline view area.
  • Fixed a problem with Harrison LV2 plugins: sometimes the window would be stretched out of proportion, and mouse clicks wouldn't work as expected.
  • Fixed set-loop-, set-punch- and set-session-range actions when called from a control surface
  • Reduced playhead "jitter" when scrolling.
  • Fixed some problems with the "calibrate" feature on Audio Setup.
  • Fixed some problems with grouped faders when they are also attached to VCA's.
  • Fixed an occasional problem with Faderport surfaces: you can now close & open sessions without restarting Mixbus, if a Faderport is connected.
  • Several new example Lua scripts ( contributed by Nik Gullotta )
  • Various new features for remote control via OSC ( contributed by Len Ovens )
  • Add "Behringer X-touch Mini" MCP map
  • Add Korg Studio MIDI-map ( contributed by Robert Schneider )
  • Update Korg Nano Kontrol2 MIDI-maps ( contributed by Philippe Demartin )
  • Updated Japanese translation

I'm sure Mixbus 32C V4 will too.
(being a plugged in member I'll probably know tomorrow or Sunday)

I watched that video last month when it first came out .
Too tell you the truth I was very happy Harrison implemented this feature in Mixbus 4

Now grab your seat and put on your seat-belt folks because I'm gonna state the most obvious and revolutionary thing I love about this new feature ....

Remember this ....
I said it here first ,,,so don't get any ideas that you beat me to the punch and came up with this Idea of how to use this feature in a way that nobody other than myself has noticed

To my knowledge Harrison Mixbus 4 is the only DAW that I own ,use and know of that has effectively made it possible for me to record in the minus section of a song in the songs timeline

In addition to that feature I can now set my bar number one anyplace I want to set it in my songs timeline ...

Now what does that mean ? I'm a trained musician ....

I don't know about you but it has always rubbed me the wrong way when I'm playing or recording  a song that has a pick up measure and then I have to compensate for the fact that " my DAW " doesn't allow me to place my first bar of music where I want it in the timeline
I have to  start my tune on bar two or bar three ....what that means is  a 24 bar or a 36 cycle of a tune winds up having some real weird math ....

Now with what Harrison has done here  I can actually play music that correctly corresponds to the correct measures and bar lines of music as I have know it all my life ...

In this Pic I took a song I had prerecorded already   ,then I moved the timeline to where I wanted my first bar of music to count as my songs start .
I added an audio track to be able to record my Tele ...i armed the track , armed the metronome and hit record ....
Mixbus 4 allowed me to record my part ...an interesting observation ...the metronome didn't play until the songs timeline hit bar one ..IMHO that was OK ...
Now just to be doubly sure I exported my little experimental Mixbus 4 experiment ...sure enough my guitar showed up just like it was supposed too ...
Now Hows That for Cool
