Very nice...  Sounds pretty authentic to me, particularly for a group of old Aussies!

It was a very enjoyable listen, almost like the Eagles with a country singer.  Everything sounds balanced and all parts have their place.  The fills were very nicely done.

Very smooth and pleasing indeed.....I concur on the drums up a tad if possible...but likely most would not mind as is .... ;o)

Stevec; Thank you for the kind words.

Bassjoker: Thank you for listening. I'll be doing a remix and raising the drums a tab.

Cheers

You had me at "The vocals are by our singer."  :)

Great tune I think, and the singer has the right twang.
drums up a little, yes I agree. The first thing that hits me is the unwanted flanging of that trebly acoustic guitar backing - I'd only guess that mp3 conversion did not serve you well. How did you mix this down? to 128 kbps?

Would LOVE to hear your tune in higher resolution. I like country and you've got a good one here.

cheers,
-Tom

Very nice indeed. Great production/mix and performance.  I have no crit's to add to the suggestions above.  I have been told by some friends of mine that speak in other dialects of English (Brit's with all of their dialects, South Africans, etc.) that American accents are hard to do.  There are a lot of regional dialects in the USA and even in the South (Texas is different from Kentucky is different from southern Georgia, etc.).  So your singer not only did a good job in his performance but did a decent job of a "collective" southern accent!  Y'all did a right nice job!

Tom; cclarry and Freddy J;  Thank you for listening and your kind words.

Tom;  Yes, I think the flanging is an artifact of the low resolution mp3, and Soundcloud's re-conversion, as its not present in the original wav file.
I used the mp3 converter in Sonar for the conversion, but at a low resolution, probably 128kbps for faster upload. Normally, for my own use I convert at 256 or above depending on the use. In future I will try higher resolutions for upload to Soundcloud.

Freddy JL; I don't think that the singer is trying to particularly sound "American", but here in Australia there are many "country singers" that make a virtue of sounding "Australian". While I have no problem with this, this singer does use his natural voice with no affectation, and if it does sound "collective", which I personally find more attractive than our own, then thank you for the compliment.

Sounds good to me. Or should I say Oz-some! I was imagining another instrument, too, but I get carried away layering things on a lot.

Not a country person myself but this is a very pleasant little ditty, mix sounds well here and you hide your Aussiness well.
