Either way, great voice. I lurved (and lurv) Soundgarten's early stuff. I have a tape of their Screaming Trees release somewhere (pre Badmotorfinger). It's quite good and pure.

If he was depressed, he should have sought treatment options or had the ER technician I had, because those words would sort any man out.  My condolences to the family.  Rough raising a son whom made this poor choice in life (and death).

Still... something seems a little fishy about this. I'm gonna wait for some deets before getting too judgy.
 
He was in Detroit after all. Who knows WTF happen and whether the local PD are trying to spin it.
 
Also, I haven't been listening to Audioslave but apparently it's backed by the old RATM kids so maybe he ticked off the wrong folks with his lyrics/associations or sumthin'?
 
Recently I've been partially swayed by the idea Hendrix may have been snuffed in the hospital (crime of opportunity) for his increasing association with the BP's. His manager was some shadowy CIA/Mob dood and there was much hand wringing over those cats at that time period (and lots of other nasty things were done to try to contain the movement).
