It was worth the $11 extra instead of Cthulhu.   It seems like the challenge is getting it set up and working.  Even this 3rd party tutorial is a fail in this area.  Wonder why Groove3 and MacProVideo hasn't touched this yet.

 I was referring to Chtulhu.

This is the secret to setting up Cthulhu in Sonar.  It's not hard!  But don't tell anybody though.  Somebody needs to keep making videos ...

1. Just add two simple instrument tracks: Your synth and Cthulhu.
2. Set your Keyboard controller as the MIDI input to Cthulhu.
3. Set Cthulhu as the MIDI input for your synth (Enable MIDI output should already be enabled in the Cthulhu VST settings).
4. Activate Input Echo = On for both tracks. Done!

I think that did it.  People who tried to make videos sucked at it.  No sound with notepad = sucks. Videos with sound had piss poor voice overs = sucked.  You would think people with some DAW sense would edit the audio on their videos.

Developer needs better documentation in setup.  Not sure I want to buy this yet.

Here is a revised version of the Cthulhu manual.  Not sure why it's not included with the program.

Yep that's the one that sucks when it comes to setup.

Well, with all due respect to the developers, all the clues needed are in the documentation.  All that is required is some fundamental understanding of track routing in one's chosen DAW.

I used the original manual (which had less info than the revised manual) and I had no problems getting Cthulhu up and running in just a few minutes.
Not really sure why anyone is struggling with it... the Cthulhu author even runs a forum and he can assist anyone having issues.
I still want to check out Tracktion Waveform - just need to find some time...

After watching videos and trying again and again, somewhere I found information about the Simple Instrument Track that got me going. Abacab has it right. Try it. Cthulhu is a really powerful program. You will have to learn it. Just like Sonar, to get the most out of it, you got to dig in!

I hope everyone gets this running like it should. I would just settle for learning how to pronounce it.
