Of all my DAWs Tracktion is the clumsiest for me.  Look up some wav files and they have this option to remove files from a project you didn't save and the options are to remove them from the DAW or the system. Oddest option ever if you are not careful.
 It's not really inspiring at all. Reaper blows it away for the same price. Of course Reason blows away most DAWs.  A budget DAW I really like is Mixcraft.  Of course with lifetime updates with Sonar and FL, those would be the real budget DAWs.
 There's a lot of things I don't like about Tracktion. I will probably buy this.  I may wait for a sale under $50. I can think of a lot of DAW "no I don't need this" for $50.
 
 

I'll get it when they have this current beta as a regular update. I don't want to download it twice in a week.

No, I meant any Waveform download. Probably you already know, but we don't have to get the full 3 GB download every time there's an update.

What is the price for Basic if you own no previous products? When I go to their website, it says that the $50 price is an upgrade for those who own any previous versions since T5.
So is $99 price to buy for first time purchasers?

I'm afraid so.
It's $50 if you paid for T5, T6 or T7.
You can get T5 for free though, but I guess that won't let you upgrade.

I've been running the Waveform demo for a few days, and the new MIDI composition tools are cool.  They would sure be handy to have.
 
The Basic edition is only $99 for first timers.  But not sold yet on the idea of buying another entire DAW. 

After playing with the Waveform demo for a few days, I went ahead and grabbed it.  The Pattern Generator alone is worth the price of admission!
 
And that new Collective synthy thing is interesting ... especially with the "tuned to a fifth" Minimoog lead sound used for the Genesis song "Abacab".
