I'm working on wireless issues that have been annoying me all week and did some testing this morning.

Today I'm getting a ping of 10 ms, a download speed of 190.38(!) and an upload speed of 12.06 - WIRELESS!!!

Directly connected is the shiz with a ping of 0, download of 240.50 and an upload of 12.09!  Best ever!

I was only going to do a little before and after comparison 'cause I just bought a nice Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 to get rid of the baked-in Comcast flakey-ness of their wireless bands (which keep dropping and often say I don't have internet when I do - etc.!).

I have no idea why I'm getting such awesome download speeds today, but you know it won't stay that way.  It sure beats the issues we were having a month or so ago where I was getting between 0.36 Mbps(!) and 2.88 with 30 to 206 pings - YIKES!

Pfft. That's nothing.

On my system the grunge sprocket lights up the internal flux capacitor at 20 basquillion NBPMS²/sec² x 10Y/6.21546789511.

So yours is kind of slow then.

Next up: Replacing the Comcast modem itself (but DAMN are the replacements expensive!).

So far, things are MUCH better.  I'm running three bands, a 5 Ghz for me, 2.4 Ghz for me (which I probably won't use) and a Guest band set up for anyone else who needs to connect (friends and roommates).  I named the Guest one "MyCheatingWiFi."

The big test will be during the work week when I'm remoting into a customer's server or computer.  I had WAY too many disconnects last week which really sucks when I'm trying to work with someone because every time I disconnect it locks their computer and they have to enter their password again.

It's actually much, much, much faster than that, but I was going for a not wanting to brag too much about it type of answer.

Now look what you've made me do.
