Ok i just installed (finally ) Sampletank 3 because ineeded to check Sample*moog for some Taurus sounds ... 
 
I ain' gonna expand on the instal and import thing  ....
 
But first some sounds imported are way lower or too loud , it's sometime hit and miss ....but i can live with that ...what kills me is that :
 
1) Browser : REALLY ? in 2K7 we have to get trees and not even a next / Previous presets , not tags , filters and all ..? Most of us own the dam total worksation .... try to close all opened folder after a search with zillion of folder in results ...( add to this dry sounds and their variartion are no more regrouped so welcome to the exponential presets crowd)
 
2) S3 , 2014 release date , HD screeen everywhere and a GUI like they have to pay the space !! i mean common , i even find the old layout more optimised if optimisation was a concern !!
The EDit page is crowdy as hell (looks like they got knobs and throught them with a baseball bat randomly ) , the console view is ok ... the pad view ok useless here but i can understand ...Do they actually know (the guyz behind this project) the meaning of ergonomy or how to take of constraint in a creative process .....
 
3) FX : can't drag drop to change the order ? no undo redo ...so if i finally want to change the order , it's erase , and change , reddo settings ect ...
 
4) 10 years in the making and not even time to stick visuals for old librarys ?  REALLY ? 10 YEARS !!! tell me how to do it and i will do it for you guyz !! 
 
I'm not moaning for nothing , i'm frustrated as hell cause this Plugin and its library has a **** sound and caracter , not Spitfire or Projec sam ...lol but this is designed for producers !!! and sound design is a breez in it ...For the love of GOD give that product and your costumers respect  .... make guis that sticks with today standard , hire a guy , YOU guyz know how to make great gui's , this "flagship" is a zodiac !!  Falcon , Machfive , Halion , Kontakt and this is your answer , claiming 10 years in the making ? not even ashame of saying it ? I know im' rude , but i saw crazy energy spent in iOS stuff , HW , new plugins and fx fake money , new custom shop ect ...... so my expectation was high .... i really can't believ this is what you guyz have to propose at the end ...
 
All i see is bad signs everywhere since few months ...i tend to no more use IK stuff because their direction is like Avid , APPLE ect .... i remeber when they introduced the "you need to download , you have to pay" thing ... can't recall a compagny doing this ...
 
So give us guyz signs , you have skill you guyz makes some of the best sounding stuff in the industry but please listen to your costumers and respect them , those are not ony credit cards number ...
 
Sorry if i'm rude (Peter , Obi ) ...pay attention to the subject not the form ..i'm sometime not that smooth ... when i didn't sleep (i was trying madly to convert your bank in another format to use them in falcon..but sample  extreme converter can't handle it :(

I very much agree, Zo. 10 years in the making and a very mediocre result (and I'm exaggerating here!)
 
I used ST2 what feels like decades ago (in terms of software bought and used) because I wanted access to Miroslav and SampleTron sounds ... but while the sound was great, the interface back then was very uninspiring and IMHO cumbersome.
 
Then ST3 came out after years of announcing it and it looked and felt the same. Everybody had been waiting for it because ST2 was 32 bit only, kept crashing occasionally and in fact was the last 32 bit plug on my DAW for a long time (becasue there was no 64 bit replacement).  However, they charged for ST3 (or at least tried to) ... and the free version couldn't load the purchased legacy libs. How cool was that !?!? Sensing the irony, I hope ...
 
Personally, I haven't bought anything from IK in a long time now. They focus way too much on iCrap toys these days.
 
 

It was quite underwhelming, plus the VST3 will completely crash Windows 10 / Studio One. The orchestral stuff is a rehash of Miro 1 and cringe worthy. I do like some of the pianos though.

All of this sounds familiar

not in my experience (on both accounts )

Good to know Grim. I should make sure I've updated ST3 and give it another try. I just cringe at BSODs so haven't tried it recently.

If you want great Taurus sounds, check out Trillian...

after it was released and "bi**hed" up a storm...it was, indeed, a VAST
