I knew right off the bat what Larry meant. He said the exact thing when ST3 came out.
And almost word for word!!

Not having had the 10 year prior experience, so no hopey changey expectations, I have little disappointment with the current version.  Are there things I would like to see changed?  YES!  I am disappointed with the focus the entire industry has on hand-held music production.  I guess that's where the money is ... <sigh>
 
OTOH, there is no piece of software; DAW or plug, that I find 100% the way I would like it.  There is a DAW we all love that I waited all the way from 8 to 8 hoping for an improved GUI - you know, as an example.

Let s make it constructive , ik multimedia are super talented , and their tools are brilliant , Arc 2 was one of my best buy in the decade , their FX line covers a lot of areas with class , and their guitar amp ( that i don t use ) are alwayz praised ...

The sounds in Sampletank line is not on pair with todays stangard BUT this is exactly what s needed time to time .... if the industry gies one Way sound wise , i tend to go the other way , not by choice , but certainly because of saturation of my ears lol

But really , i didn t wanted to go sampletank 3 since it was out because i was dissapointed by what i saw on video , add to this their customshop thing , one more for the tank ... i even do find that old interface for exemple for samplemoog is classier , and better layed out , if they would have worked on it , bigger size and tweaked the browsing , i would have say ok ( not for 10 years i hope lol)

I really feel sorry for Peter and Obi , because i know what it does to represent and work for a compagny that think they know stuff better than others , than its costumers and people close to them (Peter and Obi in this case) ...

Yep i have trillian and the taurus library isn t exeptional ...i even prefered the taurus sound in electric keyz ... i like what i heard in samplemoog and some sonicSynth ... i was about to get a minitaur but i want to stay itb ...

So at the end they had some that could have a second life for real with small tweaks here and there , 10 years for that , reflects typically some trouble in the process of making it , we all know ik moved from dinausore marketing era to wall street ... so it really reflects a bizness direction impulsed by some vision in the company ... because for sure if they had at least took some users , professionals and regular advices / requests , it would have been another product ...

I cannot think of one guy happy with this browser , exept the financial punk in the company that sees in this an era to not waist money and time ... the term Interface says what s it s all about , the interaction with the user is the key ...
I do time to time plugin dev consulting and i did since years , and i really push HARD to make some people to really understand this ...some are humble and do stuff like it ssupposed to ( i remeber Fabrice Gabriel and Air eq interface , i even sent him some old hifi gear picture to make him feel what i called old classy design ...) , and some are just self satisfied ...( i m not saying that this is the case with Ik but i cannot see another explaination because the other answer will be then incompetance, not the dev one , but the project director one ! )

So why this thread , well to share my frustration , to have some of your thought and to try to have a feedback from ik and what the deal in the future of this app , they annouced some stuff when it came out and nothing after near 3 years ... they made a good move listening to people when they annouced the free version compatibility with old banks ..( yep they listen time to time when it doesn t cost money i think ) .

Sorry to sound like a moaner time to time in the forum but i feell like sometime , thing gotta be said a little on the hard side to create stuff that never happended since years with the cooler manner ...

Lol now i have to find the thread lol ...but more seriously this is stuff that any Normal producer/soft synth user would have said ...it sa concensus , when you have zillion of sounds , top notch browsing isnt an option ... i even gonna push my friends at UVI to update falcon in this area , trees are great to organise stuff , and for the tweak guyz tree view for sound design is exellent , but for people that have 3 hours to make a tracks and need to go there smoothly , you have to make the user expereince on par with the quality of what you propose ...

Yep we cannot be 100 % satisfied , but there s some BASICS to respect ... like stability , friendly and smooth interfacing , maintenance , support ect .. Structure from Air is on sale and i just watched an old old video on it , they done things at that time even better ... and even with that as a owner of air 3 Bundle i didn t installed it ..., if it wasn t for old libraries , it would be the same for sampletank ...

For real if they came out with a top notch gui , visuals and great browsing , i would have paid full price again because , at the end , creative process is like Love , the feeling and interaction will impact the resultsts like crazy ...spend the night with 2 woman , clone boddy , wear one classy style , good parfum and all , wear the other like crap , bad smeel and crazy face (lol sorry , it just to make my point ) , and tell me what s the final experience you gonna report ...

Ps ... iknow some will prefer the second one lol
