I can't really figure out why or what the missing 3 VST plug-ins are.  Any idea why this is?  I have double and triple checked that all the vst paths are the same.  Perhaps they are vst's that I will have to authorize separately in Cakewalk when I try to insert them in the FX bin?

I think I'll be able to struggle through with only 414, but I am just curious.

And I'm just callin' it Cakewalk.  Always like that name better than SONAR anyway!

The numbers themselves do not offer much of a clue. Knowing which plug-ins are missing may help. If you have older 32bit plug-ins some require the host to run as administrator.

Sonar says I have 600 and something, Cakewalk says I have over a 1000. Figure that one out!

Grum.

I  describe how to create scan logs here
This may help figuring out the count differences.

There is only one scanner. It is shared by SONAR and CbB. Each DAW has its own scan path setting and VST Inventory. The other thing that can affect the scanner is whether the DAW is running as administrator or not.

@BRainbow,

Load CbB and try to add these three plugins to an audio track:
1) LP-EQ
2) LP-MB
3) Adaptive Limiter

If they're missing, then you've found your three missing plugins.
(For the record, I did have to add them to my CbB.)

If you have a Steam Sonar install they're found here:
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\cakewalk\x64\vst3\adaptive limiter\Adaptive Limiter_64.vst3
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\cakewalk\x64\VST3\LP-EQ\LPEQ_64.vst3
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\cakewalk\x64\VST3\LP-MB\LPMB_64.vst3

I don't know where command centre installer puts them sorry.

Here's the legacy Cakewalk website's pages on these three plugins:

Did it work?

I had to unload the vst3 path then reload it into the scan selection to get my vst3’s from Melda to show up.

Cheers,
Jerry

Thanks, scook. Great tip to see what is happening. And by occasion to see how bad is VST scanner in Sonar :(

VSTSCAN: ---- 517: c:\program files\vstplugins\Soundtoys\LittleMicroShift.dll ----
VSTSCAN: [ShortPath] c:\PROGRA~1\VSTPLU~1\SOUNDT~1\LITTLE~2.DLL
VSTSCAN: [RegKey] Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/vstplugins/Soundtoys/LittleMicroShift.dll
VSTSCAN: Previously scanned - NOT a VST plugin
VSTSCAN: WRITE VST DATA...
VSTSCAN: WRITE VST DATA - successfully updated VST plugin inventory record...

And many soundtoys classified as not vst...  Well, I used them without problem in Sonar and Studio One still can use them. So let's 'rap', they are not broken now... what is broken? vst scan...
