The mix could use some work - see the comments above.   But the song, arrangement and chord changes are really cool, I liked it.

Thanks Steve. After stumbling upon some keyboard sound I'd made for doing "Bette Davis Eyes" in our cover band, the chords became the thing. Whether I ever I work on the mix or not...hmmm...

will keep a furry ear out for the remix, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Wookiee. So most posts seem to share the same thought that it needs a remix. Do most people go back to the raw tracks to remix? Or just try smooth out rough edges of the finished stereo track?

Thanks for your opinion,
Mark

Wow! Beatles/ELO/Early Pink Floyd with something all your own all wrapped up in a single meal! Great tune! Really want to hear the vocals more, they sound really nice! I would buy this record.

Thanks Kevin. I'm glad you called it a 'record'! I'll change the settings on SoundCloud (if I find out how) so that the song can be downloaded.

Maybe I ought to boost the vocals or lay off the stereo spread. Speaking of Pink Floyd, one of the 'tinniest' songs I've ever heard and also a favorite of mine is Syd's "Apples and Oranges."

thanks again,
Mark

That is a tricky one to answer, your choice.  I would think that making changes to the stereo mix is probably not the way to go unless you have used some FX or mastering plugs on the final mix which you can identify as what may be prompting the comments here.

If you have lots of automation I would attempt to tweak that guided by what has been commented here.

If you do not then probably better for you to pull all faders down and start again bearing in mind what has been said here.

How great!  Loved it!  Voice is sweetly insouciant with that teenage mix of lust and yearning; with just enough interesting harmonies to make it less-than-simple.  80's is my favorite era.

Trippy man.
Definitely Tears for Fears-esque.
Having a second listen now as I know some of those chord changes will grow on me..................................................................
Ok, now I'm hooked - cool stuff

Very creative arrangement & mix -- a welcome respite.  Your demo is fine and gets everything across in a musically pleasing way.  Bravo.
