If you want to be the total center of attention your best bet would be to rent a small theater or playhouse . Then you can place a friend at the door and charge for your shows ...
I wound up doing that when I lived in Cali ...
FWIW , I used to love playing in Coffee Houses as far as the musical end of it went ..since I'm a non singer I would play unaccompanied and play the type of music I have on u tube as per my solo playing goes ...
I do have to laugh at some of the things that have happened too me while playing solo in that type of environment ...
Once I had a young dude w real long hair hunched over with half his body on the stage w his face a foot away from my guitar neck following every thing I was doing on the fret board as I was playing Little Wing . After about 2 mins into my chord solo the guy stands up and blurts out to me " What are you gonna play once your done tuning up your guitar " ?
Also always be very weary of the super drunk harmonica player that happened to be in the neighborhood with his suit case full of harmonicas
Trust me man he wont take no for an answer when it comes to you not letting him sit in
