So, as I have stated in my signature.... I am running windows 7, Sonar X3 producer, and a Studio Live 24.4.2 console, I also have a faderport hooked up as well. I have the master bus in sonar routed to the 2 bus -tape return on the studio live, so I typically have to adjust the 2 bus knob to balance the DAW playback with anything else I have going on (like additional mics plugged into the board to record more tracks etc.) then I control it all with my monitor level knob on the board.
This past week I was in staples and saw a wireless mouse on sale pretty cheap and grabbed one.
http://www.staples.com/Lo...M325/product_SS1062476I figured it might makes things easier in some scenarios... I had the monitor levels all the way down and still when I took the mouse out of the box, plugged the little receiver into the USB and turned the mouse on there was a pop sound from the speakers (similar to when the computer is changing sample rates like if one project is at 44.1 and the next you open is at 48...) and then when I clicked play on my project there was asthough the master bus in Sonar was muted but it wasn't? I only had a couple acoustic tracks and 2 vocals going... vocals --> master, guitars --> guitar bus --> master. I could see the meter on the guitar bus moving, but there was no activity showing on the master bus and nothing coming out of the speakers at all. When I moved the volume knob on my board I could hear the encoders in the speakers (kinda sounded like a zipper does) I removed the USB receiver for the mouse, there was another POP, and then everything worked as normal again. I plugged my ole wired mouse back in.
Is it just THIS mouse? Is it because it's so cheap? Do they all conflict with equipment?
