Hello All.

I have a Mackie Control Universal that I've had for several years now and it has served me faithfully over the years until recently.   My Master Fader continues to stick and won't move at times during the automation process.   I am now in the process of looking for a suitable replace for my MCU with similar features.  I haven't been on a gear hunt for several years, so I am out of the loop on the newest and latest controllers. Does anyone have suggestions for and excellent MIDI or USB control surface on the save level as the MCU that is compatible with Sonar X2 / X3.

I considered getting a MCU Pro, but I think I want to go another route this time

Peace

There's not much out there. Control surfaces just seem to not be that popular. There's the Roland solution made for Sonar, of course, but who knows how future support will be? Past that, it is mostly digital mixers that also work as control surfaces (in Mackie emulation mode). Very nice, but more spendy since they are mixers too. Tascam makes a couple, Focusrite has one, etc.

If you are going to stay with SONAR, I'd recommend against it.  I'd look at a touch screen monitor adapted to be a control surface.

Hey Mod Bod,

I am from the old school, I like the feel of the faders on my fingers when I am mixing and adjusting levels.  I don't see myself touching the screen for all of my movements just yet. i will get there someday, but I am not there just yet.

Peace.
