this is one of my favourite of yours - that Satch (Flyin' era) vs late 80s funk-rock vibe! don't you dare change it!

hey mgh,
don't change it, check!

LOL

at least i'll always have the first album release version......
once i release the 'remix' version, i'll offer both up for whoever wants them!

Yeah, this is awesome as is.  Reminds me a bit of Ronnie Montrose in the electric portion, and Steve Howe with acoustic.  Great high energy drums.   Love the fork in the road photo too.

If i was going to change anything, I would put the vocals in the bridge (2:00 or 2:20 mark or so) through more echo -- but i probably overuse that effect so just ignore me.

Great rocker.  Nice stuff.

thanks cwestmont, for listening and commenting.....

ronnie montrose, i did dig that dude, RIP....

vocals in bridge with fx......
that's a good idea, i'll play with that one a bit

I would think about adding some room to the drums as they are too dry for my tastes

And a touch of reverb on the whole thing to add just a wee bit of cohesion.

Yeah, I don't think it needs much of anything to be changed.   I liked the guitars just the way they were.   And loved the panned tom runs BTW.

Although...  I would be curious to hear how a Rick tone fits in...

HI STEVE,
thanks for listening.....

you know, i'm seriously considering re-tracking the bass guitar,
and tho i don't have access to a rick,
i have a similar tone i can get with my carvin active LB70.......
might have to try it!

You have a cool voice, Gonzo. Bring it forward for sure.
I would think about adding some room to the drums as they are too dry for my tastes
The distorted guitar at 2:39 or so during the acoustic interlude is rubbing my ears wrong.
And a touch of reverb on the whole thing to add just a wee bit of cohesion.

hi james,
thanks for listening.....
i think the drums were actually recorded in a booth...
so they ARE dry,
i really wanted dry, as i think it's a more honest capture, unless you have a great big room to actually record in,
i hate adding it fake.

that said,
i think you are right, that a bit of room would help them blend....

that distorted guitar, yes, i'm gonna fade that out a bit ahead of the acoustics..the idea is that the heavy would fade into the acoustic.....
