I think some of John's post would make GREAT lyric fodder for songs!

Thanks Synkrotron. Hope to share some interesting things about the process as time allows. Sort of an overview for us western guys.

Hi,

I'm not sure it matters, either way, what we think or say about the matter!

Weird how we all think we're bigger than the universe and can overcome it!

I'm picturing a teeny tiny pedro

After decades as an ardent atheist, I'm starting to show an interest in a decidedly non-western faith.  Not necessarily a belief (yet), but an interest...

The differences in control and "world view" are phenominal.

Thanks for coming out John, and good luck!

Belief is a matter of degree.  It's not an all or nothing deal.  You for instance take lots of things on faith:  the sun's gonna come up tomorrow,  Annie will be in a revival at some point in your lifetime, today you wont get in a crash on the way to get milk, etc.  There are certain conditions for the possibility of faith which are measured as one's threshold of probability that something is more likely than not.  So maybe for you it would take 7 out of 8 good pitches to believe *he or she's a good pitcher* and for me it just takes 5 out of 8.  That's why some people believe in ghosts with very little ostensible evidence,  and some people don't believe this nation was founded by white men and womyn despite an overwhelming amount of evidence.  Faith is definitely something our culture needs to get ahold of.  And remember this classic bromide:  there's no room for faith without doubt.
