Anyone know something about this statement in the 6176 manual?

"Make only one connection (Mic, Line or Hi-Z) to the 6176 preamp section"

I plan to rack this baby up and run the Inputs to a HOSA PDR-369 Mic In Panel or just run it straight into a mic line of the mic-snake I have going into my iso booth.  I can't see unplugging a mic cord out of the back every time I want to use the Hi-Z jack on the front.  Especially since it has a switch in the front panel for the source.

My interpretation is that you can't you can't use more than one input at a time.

I think it would be worth checking further, but for what it is worth, my LA610 channels strips have XLRs hooked up all the time in the back and I switch over and plug in to the hi-z on the front when ever I like and I haven't heard any extra noise or stuff like that.

best regards,
mike

OK - I triple dog dare you!

NOW it's serious. You skipped the triple dare you and went straight to the coup de grace of all dares, the sinister triple-dog-dare.  I don't see how I can get out of this one.

Glad I could help!

I also did some forum sleuthing and came upon the opinion that if you have multiple inputs hooked up the is some minor interference from other sources.  So I believe as others have suggested that as long as I only have one active source at a time, I shouldn't hear any problems.

Here's a pic of my new baby in her new home.

Yeah, leave it to me to forget to order a few 3 ft XLR to TRS cords to wire up the extra outputs and inputs into my patch bay.  I'd like to be able to access the input and output of the compressor and preamp sections separately.  That's why I haven't fastened it down yet.  (And I have a bunch of those black nylon cup washers.)
